What to Look for in your 2008 Presidential Candidate

1.  A commitment to get us out of Iraq as quickly as is physically possible.

2.  A commitment to STOP continued sprawling, auto-dependent development and consumption of our valuable farmland.

3.  A commitment to NOT ALLOW the United States to become dependent on foreign countries for our food supply (as we have done with our energy supply).

4.  A commitment to develop alternate and renewable energy sources to replace our dependency on domestic and foreign oil and gas.

5.  A commitment to develop safe, clean, reliable and energy efficient mass transit systems over endless and mind numbing highway expansion.

6.   A commitment to develop national, state and local Smartgrowth land use and development programs that encourage mass transit usage, complete streets, walkable communities and bicycle and pedestrian access over private motor vehicle usage.

7.   A commitment to national, state and local land use and development programs that discourage individual motor vehicle usage.

8.   A commitment to national, state and local land use and development programs that discourage an increase in per capita vehicle miles traveled.

9.  A commitment to put a stop to endless highway expansion across the country.
